We employ the principles of permaculture – traditional farming. The acronym permanent culture, stands for farming by using natural resources by building upon the wisdom and know-how of our ancestors.
We grow vegetables on hugel beds in mixed plantings so that the right combinations of adjacent plants help each other. We make compost and use the manure produced by our animals. We mulch with straw, mowed grass and chisel to ensure the fruit trees and the shrubs receive ample nutrients and to protect them from rapid water evaporation.
We plant old varieties of trees grafted onto seedlings. We grow a range of berries and keep expanding our range of flower species. Our bees thus have an abundance of nectar and pollen throughout the season. We grow herbs on a spiral shaft with has two types of soil - humus and sand, as different herbs require different soil.
We look after all of our animals to assure their utmost wellbeing and happiness. In return, they shower us with plenty of love and give us an opportunity to observe and get to know their world. Moreover, our Brahma chickens lay nutritious eggs and bees produce sweet honey.
We retain rainwater to water the garden. Constructed wetlands system is used to treat waste water. We build a system of cascades and barriers along the creek to help the rainwater remain in the countryside as long as possible.
We use plant extracts to enrich the soil and repel pests. Chemical have no chance with us!
